Many health professionals are using carbon based infrared sauna therapy for their patient’s modalities and treatment plans. These include those patients with chronic inflammation, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertension. Also, infrared therapy, because of its deep penetrating heat is able to provide a detoxifying effect on the body.

The infrared heat aids the body by drawing out toxins well under the skin and exfoliating them through the pores in the epidermis. Since we are often exposed to potentially harmful toxins on a regular basis, infrared therapy can assist in releasing these toxins, thus making our immune system stronger and therefore improving our health and well being.

Carbon based infrared saunas technology delivers a totally unique way of “heating up the body”. The heat released from carbon based infrared saunas permeates the body much deeper (up to 1 3/4 inches as compared to the traditional sauna, which only permeates approximately 1/8 of an inch).

Because of this greater heat penetration, your body will produce a healthful detoxifying sweat at a much lower sauna temperature–about 120 degrees. Thus, with less heat, you have increased safety and many added health benefits.

Pain reduction and reduced inflammation associated with such diseases as Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis have been reported by those individuals who engage in regular carbon based infrared sauna therapy. There is also proven evidence that when used 24-48 hours post injury, far infrared energy can help facilitate and decrease the time it takes for our bodies to heal injuries such as sprains and strains.

Regular infrared sauna use helps the body release potential carcinogenic heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and other harmful toxins, as well as alcohol, nicotine, sodium, sulfuric acid and cholesterol, thus producing a true detoxification effect. Carbon based infrared saunas have also been used as part of a structured plan for weight and fat loss. As you are “relaxing” in your infrared sauna, your body is “working” to maintain a constant core temperature. This is done by increasing your peripheral blood flow and sweating. An average sauna user can produce about 500 grams of sweat and burn up to 350 calories while relaxing in the comfort of their own therapeutic sauna….equivalent of walking about 2-3 miles! Infrared sauna therapy also can be used as a way to improve cardiovascular health and conditioning. During a usual sauna session, vasodilatation of peripheral blood vessels occurs, which increases heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate. This provides a “workout” for your heart, as the body goes to cool itself and divert blood from internal organs to the extremities and the skin. More health benefits of carbon based infrared technology also include: improvements in the tone, texture and elasticity of the skin.

Furthermore, the stress relief and relaxation effects of carbon based infrared saunas are clearly evident, as well. As you feel the warmth of the infrared rays, they will trigger the release of endorphins from your brain, relaxing your tired and tight muscles and allowing you to forget about the stressors and the problems of the day.

Fibromyalgia is an increasingly far reaching malady which leads to continual, agony encompassing the whole body (including sore joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. ) Fibromyalgia may cause significant fatigue, morning stiffness the inability to sleep, throbbing heads, deadened sensation in hands and feet, despair, and apprehension.

The most typical treatment for fibromyalgia is pain relief medication the fight their relentless symptoms. As everyone knows there also are negative complications related to long-term use of common pain relief medications like analgesics. Contemporary studies of long term use of over-the-counter (OTC) painkillers like Advil, Motrin and Aleve had the surprising result of a reduction in the occurrence of oral cancer by nearly 50%. However the danger dying from coronary disease among ibuprofen (and similar types of pain killer) users went up virtually threefold.

Additionally, there has been a lot of news time devoted to the effects of Bextra, Vioxx and Celebrex (prescription medications) which have left many people who suffer with fibromyalgia even worse off with terrible adverse reactions. The Food and Drug Administration in the USA has decided to publish warnings against the long-term use of all painkiller drugs.

It is important to consider that OTC medications are not the sole means to treat your aches and pains. Individuals could also get some tremendous pain relief from natural cures that not only treat swelling and discomfort, but also protect your heart concurrently.

Using infrared sauna for fibromyalgia relief is starting to become a commonly recognized effective treatment. Publications pronounce that addressing the pain of fibromyalgia with deep heat has better results than pain relief medications. Infrared saunas emit heat that penetrates deep under the surface of the skin and can affect the entire body.

Furthermore, the detoxification bonus of using an infrared sauna for fibromyalgia relief, will help the body return to its natural state of well being.

Moreover, when you use an infrared sauna for fibromyalgia relief , you can also relieve the fatigue and depression symptoms that from time to time accompany the physical pain of this malady. When one gets going with infrared sauna sessions, the quantity and quality of one’s rest tend to improve. Also, infrared heat may reduce depression by stimulating the pituitary.

Regular infrared sauna sessions for fibromyalgia can markedly reduce fibromyalgia symptoms without medicines. When mixed with the myriad of other health advantages related to infrared sauna, undergoing these treatments is a reasonable plan.

An overview of the Lightning Process training programme by Advanced Practitioner Russell Stubbs.

Which health conditions can benefit from the Lightning Process?

I will refer to the condition of CFS – Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the following article. However, the same principals apply equally to M.E. – Myalgic Encephomyalitis, F.M. – Fibromyalgia and P.V.F.S. – Post Viral fatigue Syndrome. The training is also relevant to other health conditions that benefit from a positive influence on the immune system.

What triggers the onset of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

There are a number of different triggers for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Sufferers can develop the condition after contracting a bacterial infection or virus. For some, the trigger can be linked to a build up of stress or one specific traumatic incident. Vaccinations, operations, toxins, injuries, etc. can also cause the condition to develop.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome can persist for years.

No matter how the condition started, a common pathway forms. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome can then persist, often for years and in some cases even decades. Sufferers typically search for help during this time from medical practitioners, both conventional and alternative. Often recovery attempts result in short-term or limited success and the sufferer continues their search for a cure.

What role does the stress response play?

All of the current research into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome indicates a sustained stress response. Some approaches aim at treating the condition by alleviating specific symptoms. Others attempt to instruct sufferers in techniques they can use to best manage their energy. The key point is being missed by these approaches. Long term recovery is unlikely until the stress response can be reduced and bought back into balance.

The Lightning Process – a discovery process

The Lightning Process is a training programme that takes part over three days. During day one, participants take part in a discovery process. This is to uncover the unconscious patterns that have formed that are driving the stress response. These patterns include behaviors, thought processes, expectations and beliefs. These were not responsible for causing the condition, but do play a key role in maintaining it.

Is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome the only place where these patterns are found?

These patterns are not unique to this condition, most are common human traits. The problem occurs when they become out of balance, which seems to be the common ground in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Participants are also shown the physiological consequences of a sustained stress response. The very mechanism that has helped our species to survive – Fight or Flight, can adversely affect most bodily systems when activated over the long term.

How can we change these patterns using Lightning Process?

After discovering the powerful link between mind and body, participants are then taught how to use this connection to positively influence health. Through using specific body movements and a set of targeted questions participants learn to change these destructive patterns from moment-to-moment. When used consistently it becomes possible to collapse the cycle of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

What is neural plasticity and how does the Lightning Process utilize it?

“Neural plasticity” is the term used to describe the brains ability to adapt and change according to experience. The Lightning Process is a tool that can be used to utilize this function of the brain. By using the process consistency and in the correct way it becomes possible to literally re-form the neural architecture of ones brain. We can learn to have a profound influence over our own health and well being by making conscious and then changing damaging responses from moment-to-moment.

Is the Lightning Process suitable for everyone?

The Lightning Process is not necessarily suitable for everyone. It is a training programme and not a treatment or therapy. It is vital that the participant is ready to take part and make the necessary changes. The work involved can at times be challenging, and so, there is a need for commitment. For those people who are ready and committed to doing the work the outcome can be quite remarkable. Thousands of people every year turn their health and lives around as a result of taking part in the Lightning Process training.

by Dr. Gregory Ellis

Chronic fatigue is a milder form of what’s known today as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Fatigue and severe fatigue have plagued humans for many centuries. Cultures have defined fatigue by many different names as was fashionable at the time.

During the latter part of the 1800′s the condition of fatigue was named “neurasthenia.” This was the main descriptive term. The condition was associated with numerous symptoms which defied providing an easy classification.

Both in Europe and America at the time of the first World War, chronic fatigue was a common complaint. Since that time, medical doctors have tried to uncover why so many people suffer from long-standing fatigue.

The broad term “neurasthenia” has evolved into an attempt to more narrowly define the condition, therefore new names have arisen:

* Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

* Post-Viral Infectious Fatigue

* Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

* Fibromyalgia

Unfortunately, the Medical Establishment has been unable to understand and define any of the causes of these different conditions and, therefore, there is no effective treatment available for the millions of sufferers.

Yet, all of the these conditions share the similarity of a constellation of symptoms:

* fatigue

* anxiety

* depression

* anxiety

* gastrointestinal disturbances

* inflammation

* inflammation

* anxiety

* depression

* and many other debilitating symptoms

For the vast majority of people who suffer from the many different symptoms, medical tests can’t find anything wrong. Blood work, X-Rays, MRIs and other medical tests including physical exams turn-up nothing out of the ordinary.

The Specific Causes of All Forms of Fatigue Remain a Mystery to Modern Medicine

Medicine operates largely on the theory of “one cause/one disease.” A complex condition such as fatigue throws a monkey wrench into the process of trying to diagnose the causes of this condition. What we do know is that fatigue is the result of multiple agents acting simultaneously.

With medicine frozen in its tracks, many people turn to alternative ideas and alternative treatments. This road is also fraught with danger because the alternative arena is filled with quick-buck artists and marketers.

In my view, the best way to deal with chronic fatigue is to use the therapies that do exist in the alternative arena as long as you can find trusted and truthful guides. Some effective treatments include:

* appropriate exercise

* the judicious use of diet

* the most appropriate diet is low-carbohydrate

* yet this diet is maligned by the medical community

* the use of selected vitamins, minerals, and herbs

* unfortunately, the public is not trained in choosing these

* of course, medicine knows nothing of this due to its reliance on drugs

By using effective alternative therapies, many people have overcome their chronic fatigue and eliminated the symptoms from which they suffered. The medical community is clear that they have been unable to define the causes of chronic fatigue and, therefore, admit to having no effective therapies.

But because of medicine’s need to squash any competing methods to health care, it ridicules any alternatives to what it offers. The only hope, therefore, to the public is to find effective alternatives. They are out there but one needs to be careful in discovering what works and what does not work.
