<p>Asthma is a very unpredictable condition. An attack can happen anytime, anywhere, and under any conditions. During an attack the muscles tend to cramp up, the chest tightens making breathing difficult, the linings in the lungs swell, and mucus starts to build up, all of these as a result of the bodys adverse response to expel a foreign object out of the body. So when caught in this unpredictable situation what could you possibly do help yourself or the one who is having an episode?</p>
<p>During asthma attacks, it is important for both the asthmatic and the onlooker to remain calm. This helps avoid irrational decisions from either party. There is a suggestion that emotions are linked to asthma, so if the asthmatic panics, the condition may worsen. Also, staying calm gives you a clearer thought on what steps to take to prevent the situation from worsening.</p>
<p>If you are the one experiencing the attack, you will be able to immediately asses the severity of your condition. Even for minor instances you should let someone know what you are experiencing so that if worse comes to worse someone already knows about the situation and what needs to be done.</p>
<p>Asthmatics carry their self-management plans which contain information of severities with the corresponding actions to take. It should be the first thing to look for when helping out the on having the attack. Asthmatics also have rescue medications for deal with such attacks. If the attack is severe enough that inhalers dont work, call for emergency help while repeatedly delivering the medication at one minute intervals.</p>
<p>If at home with no medications, never attempt to relieve an asthma attack with alternative medicines. They are geared more towards preventing an attack, not relieving it. Strictly follow whatever is outlined in the self-management plan. Taking other medications may cause more harm than good.</p>
<p>Proper knowledge on what to do during asthma attacks gives you an advantage over it. No one wants to have an asthma attack, but there are unavoidable triggers. If you already know your course of action, then you can rest assured that youll be fine when asthma does attack.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s time. You&#8217;ve been sitting by the sidelines long enough, now it&#8217;s time to get that physique you&#8217;ve always wanted. <p>High intensity and periodization are the two main schools of thought used today for weight training. High intensity workouts are short and very physically demanding, with much of the drills executed until failure. Periodization allows you to get to your destination at a somewhat more leisurely pace of around two to three months. You start at light, then proceed to medium and then high level every couple of weeks. The focus here are the collective gains the body earns at the end of training and not at the end of every session.</p>
<p>If you are unsure which is a better method-it is both. They have advantages and disadvantages and the best approach is to take the parts which works for you and integrate it into your regimen. Always keep in mind though that you will need to vary the exercises and weight loads often because your body remembers the pain you subjected it to and it will prepare for it. When it becomes familiar and complacent, the workout will not be as effective as before.</p>
<p>The power triumvirate of serious bodybuilders is weight training, rest and nutrition. For the more inexperienced trainers, the latter two usually not as given much attention; however, it needs to be said that all three are equally essential to the success of your training. Like for resting; when you exercise and put little tears in the muscle, it is rest that repairs it and develops the tissue to become the stronger and harder muscles that you enjoy. When you work out certain days; use the remaining days of the week to concentrate on getting good sleep.</p>
<p>The best muscle building food are meals that are rich in carbohydrates and protein. Examples of these would be chicken, fish, eggs, nuts, etc. As much as possible, do not pig out on high fat content food to fill your calorie needs. <p>Never forget to warm up and stretch before you start your workout session. What this does is lay the foundation for your exercise; preparing your body to perform at its best by stimulating the blood flow to vital organs, raising your body temperature and increasing flexibility. Make it a practice to stretch even between sets and as you cool down after your training.</p>
<p>When you are bulking up you need more calories so do not load up on extreme aerobic training in the beginning stages. That being said, cardiovascular training is important to the health of your heart so never neglect this aspect in your training. As you get closer to your weight objective; increase the frequency and time you allot for aerobic exercises.</p>
<p>A successful weight training program will not make itself known overnight. Sometimes you gets hits and misses but you will find your own rhythm soon enough. <p>Trying to lose weight in today&#8217;s society and overall environment is almost a full time job for a lot of us. How often have we bought books about dieting and never cracked them, bought exercise machines and never opened the shipping box, and bought miracle pills and super weight loss guarantees from some huckster on the TV at 3am while chowing down on popcorn and soda. Finding diets that work is so elusive that most of us throw in the towel before we even start, because deep down inside we feel that it is an impossibility and a totally unreachable goal. Losing weight is hard; but there is hope because there are programs out there that do work and can help you lose weight and become healthier overall.</p>
<p>Diets that work for most people are those that follow a sensible eating plan that is not overly restrictive, easily able to be custom designed for different peoples lifestyles, and is nutritionally sound. Another factor for a diet to be successful is that it has to be affordable. You know darn well that you cannot stick to a plan if you are constantly worried about how are you going to pay for it. And diets that work are not fads. They are not based on some johnny-come-lately pill or magic wrap that will melt away the pounds while you do nothing; they are usually long term plans with lifestyle changing requirements so you will be a better person overall for having been on the plan.</p>
<p>Take a look at Weight Watchers, or the Sonoma Diet (based on Mediterranean foods and cooking with wine included) or the Glycemic Impact Diet. These are all diets that work because they are time tested and have proven track records in weight loss, and they include your feelings and emotions as well as what foods you like and how you like or dislike cooking. Some of us would rather open a package, or eat a can of soup cold out of the can, rather than have to (God forbid) pick up a pot and actually cook something; so the diets that work take than into consideration when formulating an eating plan and make up a diet with those quirks in mind.</p>
<p>Before you take the plunge and decide you must lose weight, get your body back in shape, and get healthy; you have to decide just what it is that you want from a diet in order to find diets that work.. Are you mainly wanting to lose weight and want to do it as quickly as possible, or are you after the long term effects of eating a nutritionally sound mix of foods with exercise added, or do you want exercise to be the main focus of your plan and the foods you eat will act as complements, not as the main idea. Are you a compulsive eater and eat when you are stressed, or happy, or anytime the sun rises. Or could you do without food altogether and just snack on heavily salted, fatty or sugary products because you can&#8217;t be bothered worrying about what the contents of foods are, just whether or not they taste good and take away your hunger. You have to take this into consideration first, and then look for the plan that will fit into the lifestyle that your head dictates as well as be good for you.</p>
<p>Our lives are so complex today, and so based on modern conveniences that we hardly need to exert any effort to get around and get all our daily needs taken care of; and it is because of precisely that fact, that most diets that work are thwarted by the very ways that we live. New studies in weight loss and how behavior and environmental influences affect our ability to be able to stick with a diet plan show that we are failing miserably when we stop the diet plan and try to resume our previous lifestyle. We are bombarded every waking minute with luscious food ads and pleasurable activities so much so that we just cannot exert the will power it takes to overcome the effects of all these ads on our psyches and as a result, we revert right back to what makes us feel good and here comes all the weight back.</p>
<p>So what is the answer; where can we find diets that work. The main things to do in order to stay focused on losing weight and keeping it off is to forget trends in dieting. Gravitate toward plans that tout more traditional patterns of eating with healthy foods, because you are used to eating that way and it will not be such a culture shock. Get daily exercise of some sort, and keep a food diary. Take control of what, where, and why you are eating so you have a starting point. Shore up your willpower; even make bets with yourself, reward yourself with cash or other little incentives along the way, if that works for you. Make the changes in your patterns small and progressive, and above all, don&#8217;t be too hard on yourself. </p>
<p>Lots of us have dedicated all our waking moments to trying to find diets that work so we can be the sleek, fabulous, wonderful sylphs that we know we are, deep down inside. But, to tell the truth, we still need help. You need to incorporate all your physical, emotional, and psychological needs into the package as a whole when looking to better yourself and get fit and lose weight. Anything less than that will be a failure, and that is a road you have travelled far too long.</p>
