			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not everyone is a personal trainer or dietitian. I have not always known how to lose weight properly. All it takes to learn is a little determination. What follows are some truths about weight loss that everyone should know.</p>
<p>The tried and true rule of fat loss is that you must consume fewer calories than you burn. Don&#8217;t forget that exercise is also an integral part of the equation. While a healthy diet has the most impact on your weight loss, exercise is still important. Here I&#8217;ll be discussing some things on how to improve your diet.</p>
<p>A lot of things can be eaten, that doesn&#8217;t mean that they should. Bark, dirt, and poison can be eaten, but none are considered food. I also don&#8217;t consider junk food as food. Here are some things to keep in mind when trying to lose weight.</p>
<p>What exactly is the benefit of eating a donut? Where is the nutritional purpose in eating donuts when all they consist of is flour and sugar? Oh yeah, and it&#8217;s deep fat fried. The thing that makes it worse than just its ingredients it that it is usually the only thing eaten for breakfast.</p>
<p>Soda, filled with nothing but water and sugar, is another staple that needs to go the way of the dinosaurs. Diet soda, with it&#8217;s chemicals, is not a better choice. There is really no reason to drink any kind of soda.</p>
<p>There is no french fry or potato chip worth eating, anywhere. They are simply too high in fat and sodium. Don&#8217;t forget about what they do to your blood sugar.</p>
<p>With all this talk about what you shouldn&#8217;t eat, let&#8217;s talk about what you should. a good choice is to make sure that you have include fiber and protein in every meal or snack. Chick and fish are great for your protein, while fruits and/or vegetable are great for fiber. For pasta, bagels, and bread, make sure that the package says on it &#8220;whole wheat.&#8221;</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget that when you eat is also important. Three hours is a good time span in between meals. Dinner needs to be a small to medium sized meal; not a big meal. Don&#8217;t make a drastic change in your calorie count, as eating around 1600 to 2200 calories is a good range.</p>
<p>Even though most weight loss comes from a proper diet, you still need exercise to compliment it. The more you like the workout, the more likely you&#8217;ll continue with it. Whatever you decide to do, it must be strenuous enough for you to break a sweat and difficult enough for you to have a conversation. First talk to your doctor before starting your program, and then get those muscles moving! Get to it!</p>

<p>Quick weight loss is not the same as lasting weight loss. There are a myriad of quick weight loss diets available, but any loss you experience is likely to be fleeting.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a little secret: any diet can result in quick weight loss. This is why people seem to lose weight on crazy fad diets.</p>
<p>The reason so many of these diets fail is that they do not foster a lasting change in your lifestyle, which is what you really need to lose weight and keep it off.</p>
<p>If you struggle to lose weight, quick weight loss diets are very tempting. They appeal to us because we are so frustrated with our efforts so far -and our failures- that we are willing to try anything, and there is always the hope that finally we found the solution we&#8217;ve been searching for.</p>
<p>We also want fast results. When you&#8217;ve battled your weight for years, losing ten pounds in a week is a dream. We&#8217;ll take it, even if deep down we know it won&#8217;t last.</p>
<p>Here are some of the many reasons why fad diets don&#8217;t live up to the hype:</p>
<p>1. They&#8217;re boring!</p>
<p>Most quick weight loss diets focus on specific food; they don&#8217;t encourage a balanced approach to eating. We eat the same foods all the time.</p>
<p>Eating the same food all the time becomes a chore. It does not encourage us to consume less, rather we?</p>
<p>2. Cheating!</p>
<p>When you are limiting yourself and restricting the foods you eat, the forbidden seems doubly alluring. One cookie won&#8217;t hurt, you think. But then you end up gobbling a whole bag.</p>
<p>Quick weight loss diets lead to cheating which leads to overeating.</p>
<p>3. Not made to last.</p>
<p>These quick weight loss diets are fraught with danger. From overeating to food boredom, you can quickly loose interest and motivation.</p>
<p>4. You could gain more weight.</p>
<p>Nothing is worse than losing a little weight with a quick weight loss diet and then gaining every pound &#8211; and sometimes more &#8211; back the instant you start eating normally. Your body may be trying to retrieve some of the nutrients you lost while on the diet, or your mind may be rebelling.</p>
<p>It is devastating to realize you haven&#8217;t made any progress.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t need quick weight loss diets. What you do need is to develop good eating and exercise habits.</p>
<p>There is just no other way to lose weight and maintain your ideal body size. Good diet and exercise are essential.</p>
<p>To see real and lasting changes in your body, incorporate some of the following into your life:</p>
<p>* Make sure to get plenty of veggies. These are nature&#8217;s super foods and are excellent for health and weight loss.</p>
<p>* Add more fiber to your diet. Not only does it help improve overall health, it helps your body burn more fat.</p>
<p>* Sprinkle 5-6 small meals throughout your day.</p>
<p>* Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it should be the largest. Make dinner small and light.</p>
<p>* Move more. Even simple things like taking the stairs, doing some sit-ups and push ups during commercials, or playing catch with your child can have a big impact on your fitness level.</p>
<p>* Make the commitment to work out most days of the week. Three or four short sessions per day works just as well as one.</p>
<p>* Eat more whole grains.</p>
<p>* If you&#8217;re going to eat something, make it nutritious. Don&#8217;t waste your calorie allotment on junk food or sugary drinks.</p>
<p>These simple steps and many more can help you make drastic changes in your body and health. Just by adding some new habits to your life, you can safely achieve weight loss.</p>
<p>Living a more healthy life overall is the best and only way to shed extra pounds. You&#8217;ll no longer have to &#8220;diet&#8221;. You&#8217;ll simply do what&#8217;s best for your body.</p>
<p>The majority of quick weight loss diets are, at best, temporary fixes that promise far more than they deliver.</p>

The choices you make each day will make the difference in the long run, so don&#8217;t forget it. Losing 100 lbs won&#8217;t happen overnight, but you can do it if you follow this advice. Here some guidelines to get you started.</p>
<p>When you are going to try to lose 100 lbs or more, you need to set a goal. Losing 100 lbs is not a good goal. The best way to do it is state your goal positively. Focus on weighing however much you will weigh once you?ve lost the 100 lbs. For instance, if you now weigh 300 lbs and you want to lose a hundred, focus on weighing 200 lbs. This will get your mind working on the reality of weighing 200 lbs instead of the abstract goal of losing 100 lbs.</p>
<p>Close your eyes for a moment, can you picture what a hundred pounds of fat looks like? Better yet, can you actually picture &#8220;losing 100 lbs?&#8221; Probably not because it is an action, not a goal. You need to picture what you will look and feel like after you lose weight. Think about how your body will feel when it is feeling lighter, thinner and healthier. When you give your mind feelings and pictures to focus on, you are much more likely to achieve the goal.</p>

If your friends struggle with weight loss, let them know how committed you are. Often our closest friends won&#8217;t be as committed to their health as we are, and will accidentally tempt us to sweet snacks or a nice meal with friends. If you don&#8217;t indulge occasionally, you will eventually fall off the wagon and put your weight loss to a screeching halt. Doing this just isn&#8217;t worth it. There are diet plans that let you cheat sometimes, and still lose weight. You aren&#8217;t a robot, you need to eat sweets sometimes.</p>
<p>It?s okay to have a little cake, or go through a drive through sometimes, but doing so at the wrong times can put a screeching halt to your weight loss efforts. You need flexibility and the option of having an ice cream sundae or a slice of pizza sometimes. Some diet programs actually give you a chance to eat these things and still lose the weight.</p>
