Why Female Tennis Must be Appreciated

Really, what is this about?

When Steffi Graf dominated the world of girls’s tennis the media did not like it. When both of the Williams girls happened to be squashing any person on her path to the championship, tennis lovers didn’t appreciate it. And presently when titles are up for grabs? People do not enjoy this.

Most admit that the Williams girls win easily most of the time. However body defects and abridged non-Slam tournament schedules spell they currently play against one another before the finals. Although yet again allow us to remember that not too long ago the previously referenced whining concerning this common meeting in the final round and their governance over competing athletes.

Thus currently we have Dinara Safina at the top place in the rankings and the US Open seeds. And what do people say? She hasn’t earned it because she hasn’t won a Grand Slam (not to mention that she has been defeated in a couple grand slam finals recently.) Although she’s making slam title and she’s pretty engaging along the way, away from the tennis court as well.

Earlier she had to duke it out again, becoming the 1st number one seed to be defeated in the first round. Was this entertaining? I thought it was. But we will learn all about the illegitimacy of the ranking method, and so forth.

And then there was Venus Williams last night–additionally pushed to 3 pairs. Moreover amusing. (Additionally note that Venus did not have the best of summers post Wimbledon.) But likely to be heard is the prevalence of injuries among the sisters Williams and their “distractions” off the courts.

Plus now Kim Clijsters is back and as opposed to being very enthralled – which one must be because she’s friendly and pleasant and a proficient player – tennis lovers are all saying “okay what does it tell about the ladies game that she may return and have a 6-2 finish during the summer year?”

Well I suppose it asserts that she – just like she consistently has -trains extremely well. Also that she’s a veteran and she has almost nothing to lose.

So let’s simply end all the bashing, please. Agreed, there are issues in the girls game. (Such as the absence of range in terms of playing style.) However I myself like that it is any person’s guess as to who’ll play in that final in under two weeks. And I anticipate watching how they get there.
